The Government Employees Association was established in 1986 and is an affiliated union of the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions (HKFTU). It currently comprises over 60 affiliated and allied unions with a total membership of more than 40,000, making it one of the major cross-departmental and public sector group trade unions in Hong Kong.
