Hong Kong Construction Industry Employees General Union

The Hong Kong Construction Industry Employees General Union (HKEG) originated from the era of "three construction and seven trade unions"—starting with three major construction unions (mudshoeers, carpenters, and stonemasons) and seven professional unions (dock carpenters, shipyard painters, pavers, plumbers, carvers, scaffolders, and crates). Over the decades, it has witnessed the industry's transformation.

Formally established in 1986, HKEG has grown to include 27 affiliated unions and nearly 40,000 members, making it the largest system union among the Federation of Trade Unions' affiliated unions. We uphold patriotism and love for Hong Kong, and are committed to unity and progress. With the motto "You sweat, the employer pays; you join, the union protects you!", we strive to provide the most practical support for construction workers, clerical staff, and related workers.
