The Hong Kong Shipbuilding, Machinery, Electrical and Steel Industries General Union (abbreviated as the Shipbuilding and Machinery General Union) was established on October 3, 1987, as an affiliated union under the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions (HKFTU). It is a trade union organization whose core mission is to serve personnel related to the shipbuilding, machinery, property engineering, and elevator industries.

About the Organization

Over the years, the Shipbuilding and Machinery General Union has thoroughly implemented the guiding principles of "Patriotism, Solidarity, Rights, Welfare, and Participation." It actively safeguards labor rights and extensively participates in political and social affairs. The union is committed to speaking out for the public both within and outside the establishment; guided by the principles of "Support, Cooperation, Criticism, and Supervision," it supports the Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government in governing according to the law and promotes the stability and prosperity of Hong Kong.
