THE STAFFS & WORKERS UNION OF HONG KONG CIVIL AIRLINES

Historical Development (1949–Present): Founded in the autumn of 1949 during the "Two-Airline" uprising to protect aviation assets. It evolved through the 1950s and 60s by establishing grassroots welfare facilities, expanded cultural and sports activities in the 1970s, actively participated in the Basic Law consultation in the 1980s, and safeguarded labor rights during the airport relocation in the 1990s. In the 21st century, the union helped workers navigate economic crises by providing legal aid, unemployment support, and retraining, successfully reaching a milestone of 10,000 members in 2014.

Core Objectives: Unite industry workers, safeguard occupational rights, advocate for improved labor laws, participate in social affairs, and focus on occupational health and safety.

Labor Services: Handle labor inquiries and complaints, offer dispute assistance, and represent members in labor dispute mediation and litigation.

Communications & Activities: Publishes annual special editions and quarterly newsletters. Organizes labor rights seminars, training courses, interest classes, and various social events (such as banquets and trips) to enrich members' physical and mental well-being.
