The Hong Kong Union of Chinese Workers in Western Style Employment was established in 1921. Since 1921, the Union has primarily represented workers in sectors such as hotels, foreign firms, trading firms, and offices. In response to changes in the economic structure, the Union's organization has expanded to include industries such as elevators, railways, and import/export. Based on the number of members in 2009, the Union was the sixth largest trade union in Hong Kong.
